Eligibility

Are you a Columbia Family and meet either of the following criteria:

    Columbia University full-time Officer of Instruction, Research, the Libraries, or Administration and qualify for the PTS (Primary Tuition Scholarship) benefit; and live or plan on living within the five boroughs of New York City upon enrollment.

    Are in the process of being actively recruited by the University and planning to live in New York City. Applications will be provided to all qualifying Columbia University Families.

Are you a Neighborhood Family and meet either of the following criteria:

    Currently live in Public School Districts 3 or 5 and are able to provide proof of residence as required by The School at Columbia University. The primary residence of the student and a custodial parent is within the catchment area via lease or mortgage statement. This must be the same address used for federal tax submissions.

    Are a member of the CU bargaining unit residing in Public School Districts 3 or 5 and are able to provide proof of residence as required by The School at Columbia University.

Neighborhood Families will be entered into our lottery for application. Applications will only be sent to all qualifying Neighborhood Families that are drawn from the lottery.  Kindergarten is our main entry point and the release of applications above Kindergarten (Grades 1-8) will depend on space availability.

Please note:
-Children should turn five years old by August 31, 2025, to enter Kindergarten in 2025-26
-There is no application fee or required testing
